Mr. Schobert leads HCP’s health care trial group, representing physicians, hospitals, and other health care providers throughout the state of Ohio. Since 1987, he has successfully defended the most serious cases these entities experience. He is a frequent lecturer to physicians, risk managers, insurance companies, and other medical care providers on issues of risk management, managed care entities, anti-dumping concerns, malpractice avoidance, and defense strategies.
Mr. Schobert has argued a number of cases before the Ohio Supreme Court, particularly on matters involving the statute of limitations applicable to medical malpractice actions. Several cases that he has handled have been reported by the print media.
Mr. Schobert was elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates as an associate member in January 2003. He has been named as one of Ohio’s Super Lawyers from 2005 to 2011, and named as one of the Best Lawyers in America since 2006.
Before entering private practice, Mr. Schobert served as the judicial law clerk for the Honorable Paul Weick, on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
